We have applied new hierarchical virtual screening protocols prospectively to identify an outstanding proportion of diverse inhibitors of two antibacterial targets. In this study, published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface, we also discuss how the new methodology can complement high-throughput screening in the identification of new potential antibiotics.
